Remains of a foundation and original building at Fayette State Historic Park

Remains of a foundation and original building at the townsite at Fayette Historic State Park in the Upper Peninsula, one of the locations looking for Campground Hosts

If you like camping, meeting and working with people, don’t mind being decked out in “official” vests, shirts and hats, have your own camping gear and a minimum of four consecutive weeks to spend in Michigan’s great outdoors, you may be interested in applying for a post as a Campground Host at a state park, recreation area or forest with camping sites.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and ready to give 30 hours per week in return for a free campsite for the duration of their term. The mandatory training session for new hosts is June 3-4 in Roscommon.
